Fellow ponders:

I've enjoyed your shop tours so much, I thought I would reciprocate and give each of you a chance to see my 'hideaway!'

entering the shop

This first shot is as you enter the "L" shaped shop. The shop developed in two stages over the past six years. The first stage was a 10' x 16' area partitioned off from the rest of the finished family room in the basement. The second phase added another 10' x 12' 'leg' to the original space. All in all, not a very big space, less than 300 sf, but workable for the projects I like to do.

scroll saw, drill press

Shot just inside the door, 12" benchtop drill press to the right and scroll saw in the corner.

dust collector

Turning left just inside the door, 650 cfm dust collector and my 'bench'. Just a couple shop made (of course) saw horses and a few planks.

lathe

Short leg of the "L" with Sears lathe, wall bench, and the requistite tool collection hanging from the wall.

table saw

View of table saw with outfeed and side tables and dust collection.

more drill press

Another shot of drill press wall.

router table

Router table - pretty crude - just the Sears metal router stand clamped to the outfeed table of the TS. (It works for me, though.)

table saw, panel cutting jig

Close up of TS with extension tables and my version of Norm's classic, the sliding panel table.

drill press and work table

A close up of my drill press with enlarged work table and fence w/ stop

compressor cart

Air compessor cart shot completes the group. This, too, was a shop project. It includes an enclosed space with shelf for storage of the nailers and nail assortments.

compressor cart II

Another view of the compresser cart.

Current projects include a doll crib for my granddaughter and a computer desk and bookcase for my son's room. My wife also has a long list of future projects that are only limited by money and time.

Thanks for taking the time to view my humble shop space. It's not too pretty or too large, but it works for me. I look forward to seeing more of fellow ponders shops. I find I always learn something new.

Dave
