A Tour of Brian Gray's Shop
Upon moving to our new house, I started planning for my new shop.
Currently, all of my endeavors are happening in my small garage. Even though about half of my tools are in storage, I'm very crowded.
Here is the plan for the new shop.
This plan shows nine foot ceilings. I will actually have ten foot ceilings. I also have different roof trusses. The roof trusses that will go on the shop will have a full 13 feet of usable width, rather than the eight feet shown. I will have an office in the attic space.
On 4 December, my concrete guy broke ground.
We missed our weather window in December, so we had to wait until spring to continue. In early April, footers were poured and blocks delivered.
It only took a few days to set the blocks. Then it was a waiting game for the floor and driveway to be poured.
A couple of days later, the shop floor was poured.
After almost two weeks, the walls stated coming up…
Then, two days later, the walls were up…
and the trusses were beginning.
More trusses…
…and by the end of April, the roof is up…
…the next day the shingles are on.
A week later and siding is starting, and the doors and windows are hung.
By the end of May, after just a bit less than six months from the first turn of earth, the entire exterior is finished, except for a staircase that will attach to the exterior back wall.
Here's another view, this of the double doors at the end.
